Facing personal challenge or change?
An introduction to the Personal Pathfinder Program
THINK ABOUT THIS…!
I live in a small rural community. One day when I visited my local Doctor, he commented on the fact that I seem to be often away from the community and asked me what I do.
I explained it to him this way:
I said": “Doctor, you work with our community - you are the sole Doctor here and you provide service to all people, regardless of race or status or whatever health challenge they may have. You work under a professional code, and you deal with every individual separately and confidentially. My work is much the same now, but it is in a different capacity. I work individually with peoples’ ideas - be they for business, or be they community improvement idea, or if they need some mentor guidance is searching for a personal life-path.
Every one of my clients, like yours, is a unique individual. - Therefore, imagine Doctor, what it would be like if, when your write out a prescription to treat a particular health problem, you only needed "one pill" that you prescribed for everybody and every ailment and you could fix up everyone's health problem almost instantly."
He laughed and said - "that would be good, but it can never happen."
I said: "Unfortunately, that is often the way many individuals are treated when searching for a personal direction in life. Existing strategies are more often based on Programs that only offer one solution, and these can be very impersonal.
I work differently, I work like you do – the community knows what I do, and they know I am here for them when they need. I build individual trust, people come to me with their ideas, or their challenge, and I help them to look into the mirror and ask them to tell me what they see, so they can then make their own decision.
I don’t tell them what to do - rather, I help them to help themselves” - and that’s the vital key…!”
Then, I said: "In my work thought, I have not always worked that way - In the past, I have tried to mix personal mentoring with a broader prescription of trying to get "whole communities" to agree to take responsibility for their collective social, economic and environmental health" and now realize, once and for all, that it will never work that way. The two methods and prescriptions are incompatible. So instead, I am now focused on mentoring individuals as well as groups of individuals who share a common goal or need, and this is the only way it works."
He clearly understood what I was talking about.

Finding Your Rainbow...in a world of uncertainty
We all came into this world without choice, without understanding and without personal control over what happens to us for at least twelve to fifteen years. But what of our future - is our life destined to chance and circumstances? Or can we actually have control of the destiny that awaits us beyond formative years?
